01.Fundraiser -- The Hammock Hangout, Burning Man 2003

	The Hammock Hangout was an ambitious project. The idea was to have a giant shade structure that would provide a cool place for 90 hammocks using 3 giant cargo parachutes layered one above the other. Ideally there would be ten feet between each chute to allow the heat that builds up under each parachute to be escape thereby minimizing the heat radiating down to where the enjoyers are hanging out. I tested this theory last year and it seemed to work surprisingly well. ( click on any image to see larger view and read the rest of the story )
